In September 2009, the Committee of the Royal Malta Yacht together with the Government of Malta came to an agreement regarding the future location of the Royal Malta Yacht Club.

The Yachting Centre, which was previously occupied by the Malta Maritime Authority, will be the new Club House for the RMYC.

Works commenced on the 1st April 2009 and completed by October 2009.
