Challenging Start for National Championships

Challenging Start for National Championships

The Royal Malta Yacht Club, under the auspices of the Malta Sailing Federation, today welcomed over 55 sailors who are taking part in seven classes which include Optimist Senior, Optimist Cadet, Optimist Beginner, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7 and RS Feva.

The Championships have also welcomed a number of foreign participants, hailing from all over Europe as well as a Turkish contingent from the famed Galatasaray Sports Club.

Bad weather conditions however thwarted any attempts to have any sailing done. Hopefully, Sunday’s weather will be kind enough to allow for some racing to be done.

Racing will take place on Sunday 10th November, just off Tigne Point and with a first warning signal being given at 10:30am.

The 2019 National Dinghy Championships are being supported by Midi plc.
