Sail Trimming for Performance & Starting an IRC Cruiser Class

Sail Trimming for Performance & Starting an IRC Cruiser Class

The recent seminar hosted at the RMYC and presented by Des McWilliams was a great success and was very well attended by Club members and their guests. Des explained various aspects of sail trim in different wind strengths and wind angles and also focused on sail trimming for better performance. Des also took questions put to him from the floor and introduced Jason Galea and the services offered in this new sail loft situated in Dingli. Jason can be contacted on mobile: 7945-1643

After the "Sails Talk", the Clubs' Racing Commodore, Godwin Zammit, explained the Clubs' vision of the new "Cruising Class" which the Club is trying to get going. Various members aired their views on how they thought the committee could increase the size and type of the fleet in various events.

The plan is to have the Gewiss Marzamemi Weekend Regatta as the first event where some boats could eventually be rated in this division.

More guidelines and details will shortly be published by the Club and will be made available to all members.
