The Gift of Giving

The Gift of Giving

Dear Members,

We hope that this Christmas will see us engage in the gift of giving. There is no better way to support those families and individuals that might be facing hardship by showing  support towards two initiatives that the Club is supporting.

The Annual Boxing Day Fun Race will once again take place and through this event we will support the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

We will also be supporting the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation’s Reverse Advent Calendar Campaign an initiative being driven by Club Member Lisa Villette.

Do help!  We hope to count on your generosity!

Boxing Day Fun Race

The traditional Boxing Day Race will take place on Monday 26th December.

The first warning signal will be given at 1000hrs, by Mrs Miriam Vella, wife of the President of Malta and by Mr John Huber , Chairperson of the Governors’ Board for the Malta Community Chest Fund Foundation.

A minimum donation of €5, per person on each participating boat will be collected – feel free to donate more should you wish.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served at the Club’s Bar immediately after racing and prizes for the Best Dressed Crew and Best Dressed Boat will be presented then, so do let your creativity and Christmas spirit run wild!

Reverse Advent Calendar

The Royal Malta Yacht Club is supporting an initiative by Club Member Lisa Villette to support the Foodbank Lifeline Foundation’s Reverse Advent Calendar Campaign.

The concept is simple, have a look at the suggested shopping list below, and bring the items to the Reverse Advent Calendar boxes found in the Club Lobby.Christmas is a time for giving!
And with so many people facing increased hardships this year, there’s never been a better way to show you care, than helping to feed a family in need.
